Dr Tiziana Vigo PhD
IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino
Genoa, Italy

Dr. Vigo is responsible of the laboratory of Experimental Neurosciences at the IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino in Genoa. She is a molecular biologist with skills in neuroscience and neuro-immunology. Her work contributed to define the molecular mechanisms of the immunomodulatory and neuroprotective function of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in the experimental model of Multiple Sclerosis. Currently, her scientific interest is focused on the crosstalk between the nervous and the immune system in neurological diseases. Particularly, her studies aim at the identification of neural circuits controlling the generation of immune cells in experimental models of Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, ischemic stroke and brain tumors.
