Marco Salvetti is Professor of Neurology at Sapienza University of Rome where he chairs the Department of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Sensory Organs and the Neurology Residency Program.
He is the Director of the Neurology and Stroke Unit at Sant’Andrea University Hospital and of the Residency Program in Neurology of Sapienza University
His research group focuses on the investigation of gene-environment interactions in the etiology of multiple sclerosis and on proof-of-concept, repurposing clinical trials in multiple sclerosis and in rare neurological diseases.
He was awarded the Rita Levi-Montalcini prize for research on multiple sclerosis in 1999. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Society, member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the International Progressive Multiple Sclerosis Alliance and Academic Chair of the Industry Forum of the International Progressive Multiple Sclerosis Alliance.
