How to Get There

By airplane
Verona International Airport Catullo in Villafranca is situated approximately 12 km from the city centre.
There is a shuttle bus service to and from the airport every 20 minutes approx. from 6.10 am to 11.30 pm. The airport shuttle bus terminal is outside Porta Nuova railway station. From there you can easily get to every destination in Verona both by bus or taxi.

By train
Verona is at the crossroad of the Milan-Venice / Brennero-Bologna railways.
Its main railway station is Porta Nuova.

By car
Verona is at the crossroads of two of the most important Italian motorways: the north-south A22 motorway (Modena-Brennero) and the east-west Serenissima A4 (Milano-Venezia).
Distances from Verona by car: Milan km 165 (102 miles), Trento km 103 (64 miles), Bolzano km 157 (97 miles), Vicenza km 51 (31 miles), Venice km 114 (70 miles), Brescia km 68 (42 miles), Bologna km 142 (88 miles), Florence km 230 (142 miles).

N.B. Private cars are subject to access restrictions for most of all the historical areas of Verona city center (ZTL).
You might want to consider leaving the car in one of the covered parking lots just outside the city center: Parcheggio CittadellaParcheggio ArenaParcheggio Centro.
They are all very close to piazza Bra.

Presentation Instructions

You can put up your poster from 08.00am in the morning on the day of your presentation. You will find a number in the top corner of the poster boards, the number is the ID number that you were given during your abstract submission. The materials should include the title of the presentation and the list of authors. At the end of the day, you have to take your poster down – the poster that has not been removed will be discarded.


Apply for a Grant


AINI has issued a generous number of Travel Grants in various categories


will cover: registration fee, accommodation (3 nights in shared room) and an allowance for travel expenses.

To be eligible you have to

  1. be a PhD. Student, or post.doc
  2. born after January 1, 1987
  3. be a Young AINI Member or AINI Member New Applicant
  4. have registered for the congress with the category “AINI Grant Applicant“;
  5. be the first, second or last author and the presenting one of a submitted abstract

To apply please send the following documents to

  1. A motivation letter describing briefly your commitment to neuroimmunology and why you should be given a grant;
  2. A recommendation letter from your PI


will cover registration fee and accommodation (3 nights in shared room).

In addition to Travel Grants for young researchers (submitting an abstract to the Congress), AINI will issue travel grants for postgraduated students – MD and MSc – enrolled in specialization courses (i.e neurology, clinical pathology and clinical biochemistry,…). Applicants should state the specialisation course and briefly motivate their interests in the neuroimmunology field of research.

To apply please send the following documents to

  1. A motivation letter describing briefly your commitment to neuroimmunology and why you should be given a grant;
  2. A recommendation letter from your mentor
  3. Certificate of registration to the specialization

3. Free registration, are offered to biomedical university students of Liguria

To apply for this Grant you have to:

  1. register with the category “University Students of Liguria“;
  2. upload a document confirming your status as an undergraduate Student during the registration.
  3. apply for AINI Membership


Application are subject to approval by the Steering Committee. The outcome will be communicated within April 5, 2019.

The hotel accommodation will be provided by the organizing secretariat in the Official Congress Hotel.

The amount of the travel allowance varies.
